A law firm seeks a seasoned Partnership Tax Attorney to join its Business/Corporate Practice Group in Seattle. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience supporting partnerships, with a strong background in tax structuring, M&A, and client guidance on state and tax matters. An LL.M. in Taxation is preferred. The firm offers a flexible work schedule, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Seattle office and two days of remote work.

Duties

  • Provide tax structuring expertise and advice on a variety of partnership-related matters.
  • Guide clients through complex state and federal tax issues, offering solutions to sophisticated tax challenges.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by providing tax-related guidance and structuring recommendations.
  • Collaborate with clients and the firm's practice groups to navigate intricate transactions across different sectors.
  • Conduct extensive research to support tax-related matters, leveraging exceptional research skills.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities, ensuring smooth execution of tax projects and transactions.
  • Participate in negotiations and court appearances related to partnership tax matters.
  • Contribute to business development and client acquisition strategies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in partnership taxation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • High level of commitment to professionalism and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex responsibilities with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Experience in providing tax structuring advice and solving complex tax issues.
  • Proven track record of managing transactions and tax-related matters in a variety of industries.
  • Experience with M&A transactions is highly desirable.
  • Business development skills and experience are preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is preferred.

Certifications

  • Active membership with a state bar association (preferably Washington).
