Job Overview
A well-established law firm located in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Criminal & Family Law Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, with a focus on providing exceptional legal services to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least one year of experience in either criminal defense or family law to join a dynamic legal team. The position offers a full-time, in-office role based in Indianapolis, IN, with the possibility of occasional travel to other counties within the state.

Duties

  • Represent clients in criminal and family law matters, attending court hearings primarily in Indianapolis, with occasional travel to surrounding counties.
  • Provide legal expertise throughout all phases of litigation, including trial preparation, research, and drafting legal motions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and prosecutors.
  • Maintain a high standard of client service, ensuring that all interactions are handled with care and efficiency.
  • Manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and adhere to strict deadlines while thriving in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in criminal law, family law, or a combination of both.
  • Valid license to practice law in Indiana.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and professionally handle complex legal matters.

Education

  • Doctoral degree (JD) required.
