A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney with extensive experience in personal injury civil litigation. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload independently, handling all aspects of litigation from inception to trial. This role requires strong knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and experience in civil jury trials.

 

Duties:

  • Work independently with a full-time paralegal to manage a caseload of personal injury litigation cases
  • Draft pleadings, conduct depositions of individual defendants, corporate defendants, and experts
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery
  • Practice motions including drafting, responding, and arguing motions in court
  • Conduct civil jury trials and manage trial preparation and strategy
  • Analyze case records and legal issues to provide strategic advice
  • Retain experts, meet with them, and prepare expert disclosures
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Manage case docket and deadlines with extreme attention to detail

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Colorado
  • Admission to Federal Court for the District of Colorado
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury civil litigation
  • Proficient in Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure, civil discovery, and motions practice
  • Strong civil jury trial experience is essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven record of managing civil case dockets and deadlines

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado
  • Admission to Federal Court for the District of Colorado

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in settlement negotiations
