Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an Employment Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join its Employment group. The role involves defending employers in complex employment litigation cases, providing legal advice on employment issues, and conducting workplace investigations and training. Candidates with experience in employment counseling or litigation are preferred, but those with general litigation experience and an interest in employment law are also encouraged to apply.

Duties

  • Defend employers in class, collective, and representative actions as well as single-plaintiff cases involving wage-and-hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Advise employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide training to employers and their staff.
  • Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for hands-on mentoring and advancement.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in employment law or general litigation with a strong interest in employment law.
  • Admitted to practice in California.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Expertise in employment litigation and counseling.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
