Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Oxnard, CA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team. Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation, including tort liability, defense of health and human service providers, and public entities.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial processes.
• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on business and litigation-related matters.
• Manage case files, prepare legal documents, and ensure compliance with all legal procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop case strategies and ensure timely case progression.
• Draft and review legal pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and decisions.
• Participate in negotiations, mediations, and settlements when applicable.
• Ensure effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the California State Bar.
• Proven experience in civil litigation, with a focus on tort liability and defense.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Expertise in legal research and legal drafting.
• Experience managing cases from inception to trial.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle a busy caseload and meet deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and drafting abilities.
• Proficient in legal research tools, including Westlaw.
