Duties:

  • Draft and argue various pre-trial motions, including motions for summary judgment, motions to compel discovery, and motions for protective orders.
  • Provide in-depth legal research and analysis on trial court matters, including evidentiary issues and legal precedents.
  • Prepare trial briefs to clarify complex legal concepts and inform the court.
  • Assist in the discovery process, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and reviewing medical and accident records.
  • Review witness statements, insurance policies, and expert reports to ensure thorough case preparation.
  • Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop litigation strategies and ensure alignment with trial objectives.
  • Participate in jury trials by providing written arguments on legal issues and supporting trial preparation.
  • Advise clients on the likely outcome of appeals and help formulate strategies for post-trial motions.
  • Monitor appellate court decisions and apply relevant legal changes to ongoing cases.
  • Work closely with other firm members to maintain high-quality legal standards and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership with the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-trial briefing and discovery, focusing on personal injury law.
  • Expertise in Texas District Court procedures and civil appellate processes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical writing abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Detailed knowledge of personal injury law and pre-trial motions.
