A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 5+ years of Personal Injury trial experience. The ideal candidate will handle auto liability, premises liability, and commercial claims, while also providing legal counsel to clients and supporting the litigation team.

 

Duties:

  • Handle auto liability, premises liability, and commercial claims.
  • Draft lawsuits, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Guide the work of paralegals and support senior managing attorneys for civil litigation and Camp Lejeune clients.
  • Determine case strategies and solutions after analysis of client needs.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients and prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, and pleadings.
  • Perform legal research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Utilize case management software and documentation, specifically Needles Neos.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing, research, and negotiation.
  • Possess strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Handle complex caseloads with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain active membership in the NC Bar association.
  • Utilize advanced computer skills with legal research programs like Westlaw and Lexis.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Personal Injury trial experience.
  • Active member of the NC Bar association.
  • Advanced computer skills with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis).

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal proceedings.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with case management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
