A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and driven Entry-Level Immigration Attorney for a role based in Los Angeles, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with up to three years of immigration law experience to grow within a supportive and dynamic legal environment. The position offers the chance to develop hands-on skills in immigration law while working closely with a team of experienced attorneys and legal professionals. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and solutions for clients on a variety of immigration matters.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring all legal matters progress in a timely and organized manner.
  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare immigration petitions, including family-based cases, removal defense, and other petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration applications to ensure they are complete and compliant.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to address changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to determine legal strategy and provide guidance.
  • Develop case strategies, preparing clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents necessary for immigration-related cases.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and USCIS applications.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in case management software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to move cases forward with efficiency and diligence.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the State Bar of California, or eligible to practice law in California.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California (or eligible for licensure).

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law, including removal defense, family petitions, and humanitarian relief.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a client-centered approach.
  • Proficiency with case management software and legal technology tools.
