Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and self-motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team remotely in San Jose, CA. Duties

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including bodily injury claims, construction defects, and employment-related litigation
• Develop and implement legal strategies, with the freedom to litigate cases in a way that reflects your style and expertise
• Conduct depositions, draft and argue motions, and represent clients in hearings and trials
• Negotiate settlements and manage case progression from start to finish
• Provide excellent client service, offering timely updates and transparent communication throughout the case
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive case strategies and efficient workflow
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to insurance defense

Requirements

• Experience in insurance defense, with a focus on bodily injury, construction defects, and employment law
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
• Proven experience in managing cases independently, from initiation through resolution
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar
• Additional state bar memberships are a plus
