Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on CFIUS matters, including reviewing and guiding foreign investments into the U.S.
  • Advise clients on compliance with U.S. export controls and ITAR regulations.
  • Develop strategies to ensure client adherence to export control requirements and ITAR regulations.
  • Support and collaborate with an active legal team in handling international trade regulatory and enforcement matters.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis on international trade laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in dealings with regulatory agencies concerning export controls and CFIUS processes.
  • Stay current with changes in international trade regulations and provide timely updates to clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Proven experience with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and contribute to an active legal team.
  • Must be admitted and actively Barred in the state of Virginia.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance with relevant coursework or experience in international trade and export controls.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Virginia.

  • Comprehensive understanding of CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR regulations.
