A law firm in Lexington is seeking a skilled and dedicated Attorney specializing in Workers' Compensation defense. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in handling complex workers' compensation cases, including those involving The Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trial documents, and handle appellate activity.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions for summary judgments.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Kentucky.
  • Possess 3-10 years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense.
  • Expertise in defending against claims involving The Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Must hold a valid license to practice law in the state of Kentucky.
