A law firm in Honolulu, HI, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will focus on collection and litigation matters, including handling breach of contract and collection litigation from demand through judgment. This role requires excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, with responsibilities including attending court hearings, preparing and arguing motions, and managing a caseload to meet client expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation matters from demand through judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in-person.
  • Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Oversee an assigned caseload in a manner that meets goals and client expectations.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California; multi-jurisdictional admission in AZ, CA, NV, and TX preferred.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong research skills, utilizing both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
