Duties

  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Set up cases with insurance carriers and maintain regular contact with adjusters.
  • Conduct legal research on motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury matters.
  • Facilitate investigations to prosecute personal injury claims effectively.
  • Use case management systems to document case status and set individual timelines based on client needs.
  • Regularly review case statuses and resolve potential issues.
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers to reach favorable settlements for clients.
  • Prepare detailed demand packages and evaluate liens involving various entities.
  • Assist case managers with the settlement of personal injury claims.
  • Draft and file necessary legal documents, such as Notices of Claim and Federal Tort Claims Act forms.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to ensure timely and efficient case resolutions.

Requirements

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • Proficient in PC applications, Windows, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Must have passed the bar exam.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
