Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an experienced Business and Litigation Attorney to join its Charlotte, NC office. Duties

  • Provide exceptional client service and legal counsel in business and litigation matters
  • Manage cases independently and collaborate with other attorneys on complex legal issues
  • Draft, review, and revise business contracts and corporate documents (e.g., operating agreements, shareholder agreements, bylaws, stock plans, resolutions, etc.)
  • Handle business transactions including asset and stock purchase agreements, commercial loan closings, and more
  • Represent clients in court and arbitration hearings
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including fostering referral partnerships
  • Engage in community activities to support the firm’s growth and visibility

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (required)
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina (preferred)
  • Proven experience in business law, including drafting and negotiating contracts and corporate documents
  • Experience managing business deals and transactions, including asset and stock purchases
  • Litigation experience, including representing clients in court and arbitration hearings
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and able to manage a caseload independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in the North Carolina Bar (required)
  • South Carolina Bar membership (preferred)

Certifications

  • North Carolina Bar License (required)
  • South Carolina Bar License (preferred)
