Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Attorney to manage foreclosure, eviction, and financial services default litigation cases in New York, NY. This role requires a motivated individual capable of handling diverse litigation tasks, appearing in court, and managing client relationships. Duties:

  • Manage a dynamic caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including non-jury trials, evidentiary hearings, depositions, mediations, and motions calendar.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, discovery requests, client updates, and other legal documents.
  • Provide routine updates to clients on case progress and develop strategic litigation plans.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through exceptional customer service and proactive communication.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve firm and client goals while contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Monitor and meet internal and external performance metrics for case outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the New York Bar.
  • Proven experience in litigation, including court appearances, legal drafting, and case strategy development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Experience with federal litigation or bankruptcy is a plus.
  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey is advantageous but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active NY Bar License (required).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and advocacy skills for court and client interactions.
