Senior Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a seasoned Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to manage a diverse caseload and provide expert legal representation to clients facing criminal charges at federal, state, and local levels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in criminal defense, excellent trial advocacy skills, and the ability to strategize effectively in complex legal scenarios.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters, ensuring effective representation from pretrial through to resolution.
• Advise clients on legal rights and options, drafting necessary legal documents and pleadings.
• Attend and represent clients at pretrial hearings, providing strategic counsel and post-hearing guidance.
• Conduct legal research and analyze precedents to assess and predict case outcomes.
• Prepare for and manage court appearances and trials, including drafting motions and interviewing witnesses.
• Gather additional evidence to support client cases and counter prosecution arguments.
• Prepare clients for depositions and strategize case goals with relevant experts and witnesses.
• Maintain communication with clients, updating them on case developments and advising on best legal strategies.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Nevada (or eligibility for admission via reciprocity).
• 4-5 years of progressive experience in criminal defense, handling complex cases across different jurisdictions.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and legal professionals.
