Job Title: International Employment Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced International Employment Attorney to join its Employment Group. The ideal candidate will bring over five years of experience in employment law with a focus on international counseling. This position will involve providing legal guidance on a variety of employment-related matters in corporate transactions, employee terminations, and the drafting of related agreements. The role requires a deep understanding of employment law both domestically and internationally, and the ability to work collaboratively with other offices across the firm’s global employment practice.

Duties:

• Provide employment law advice related to corporate transactions, including employment due diligence.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
• Counsel on employee terminations, reductions in force, and layoffs.
• Advise on employee mobility, restrictive covenants, and related legal matters.
• Support emerging companies on all aspects of employment law.
• Collaborate with cross-border teams, handling global employment issues and providing strategic guidance.
• Contribute to firm growth through business development and client relationships.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law, with a strong focus on counseling (both domestic and international).
• Proven track record in advising on complex employment law matters.
• Experience in employment law for multinational corporations is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong legal analysis, strategic thinking, and client service orientation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland (MD).

Skills:

• Expertise in employment law and cross-border legal issues.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing demands and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships both within and outside the firm.
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and contract negotiation.
