Duties

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and responses in litigation matters.
  • Conduct discovery, including interviews, document reviews, and depositions.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies, preparing clients and witnesses for depositions and court appearances.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure they are informed throughout the litigation process.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Present cases in court through oral arguments and written briefs.
  • Attend all meetings, hearings, and appearances punctually and consistently.
  • Supervise and mentor support staff, providing guidance and leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong research and writing abilities, particularly in legal contexts.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate legal analysis and information, both orally and in writing.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, adjusters, other attorneys, and paralegals.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and tracking job assignments.
  • Capable of managing billable hours and tracking time spent on cases accurately.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to provide support and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, witness interviews, and professional conferences.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (required).
