Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is looking to add a skilled Associate Attorney to its Patent Prosecution and Litigation team. This position focuses on IP litigation matters, where the selected candidate will take on responsibilities such as managing cases, preparing briefs, and collaborating with experts. A strong background in IP litigation, including patent prosecution, is crucial for success in this role. The ideal candidate will also have experience in leading and mentoring junior associates, managing complex cases, and engaging in patent trial procedures.

Duties:

• Manage patent litigation cases from start to finish, including conducting depositions and working with expert witnesses.
• Handle motions practice and case management through PTAB or trial proceedings.
• Supervise and guide junior associates and paralegals.
• Prepare and file necessary legal documents, including briefs and motions.
• Work collaboratively with clients and the legal team to develop case strategies.
• Ensure timely progression of cases, meeting all deadlines, and maintaining communication with clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation, including extensive work in patent prosecution and trial proceedings.
• Proven experience in managing litigation cases and supervising junior team members.
• Strong background in taking depositions and working with expert witnesses.
• Ability to handle PTAB or trial proceedings effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Highly organized with strong analytical abilities.
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York or eligible for licensure in the state.

Education:

• A law degree from an accredited institution.
• A technical background, especially in engineering, is preferred.

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO is highly desirable.
