A highly regarded personal injury law firm in Louisville, KY, is seeking a dedicated Personal Injury Trial Attorney to manage a substantial caseload, handle complex litigation, and advocate for clients in personal injury cases. This role requires a proven track record in litigation and a passion for client advocacy.

Duties

  • Manage Caseload: Oversee approximately 150 cases, with around 50 in active litigation each month, from initial intake through to settlement or jury verdict.
  • Client Communication: Maintain proactive and transparent communication, ensuring clients are fully informed and supported throughout their case.
  • Litigation Activities: Conduct depositions, draft and respond to motions, lead mediations, and develop comprehensive case strategies.
  • Trial Advocacy: Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, passionately representing clients to achieve favorable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in Law: Minimum of 3 years practicing personal injury or civil litigation, with 5-8 years preferred. Experience in both plaintiff and defense roles is beneficial, with a preference for plaintiff-side civil litigation.
  • Licensure: Active license in good standing with the State Bar; multiple state bar admissions are advantageous.
  • Trial Experience: Minimum of 5+ first-chair trial verdicts required, with a preference for candidates with 10+ first-chair jury verdicts. Comprehensive knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate case strategies and effectively engage with clients and team members.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in case management, trial preparation, and legal research.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high caseloads efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
