A law firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. This position requires a candidate with substantial hands-on experience in commercial real estate loans and mezzanine loans, as well as a strong track record as a key member of deal teams. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage key aspects of transactions from due diligence through closing. Large law firm experience is strongly preferred.

Duties:

  • Handle commercial real estate loans and mezzanine loan transactions.
  • Act as a key member of deal teams, overseeing critical aspects of transactions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and manage the closing process for transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex loan documents.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on commercial real estate finance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the structuring and execution of various real estate finance deals.
  • Resolve legal issues and disputes related to real estate finance transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and legal developments.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of commercial real estate finance experience.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial real estate loans and mezzanine loans.
  • Proven ability to manage key aspects of transactions from due diligence through closing.
  • Experience as a key member of deal teams.
  • Large law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in North Carolina is required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate finance laws and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
