A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Associate Personal Injury Attorney to join its growing litigation team in Dallas, TX. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 1-4 years of personal injury law experience to manage and develop cases in a supportive and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be involved in a variety of legal matters, from depositions and court appearances to settlement negotiations, with ample mentorship and resources to facilitate professional growth. Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury cases throughout the litigation process.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery responses, on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and hearings, ensuring they are well-equipped for legal proceedings.
  • Take and defend depositions as part of case preparation and litigation.
  • Attend court hearings, mediation sessions, and other relevant legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Direct and oversee investigation efforts related to assigned cases, collaborating with experts and witnesses.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, preparing meet-and-confer letters to resolve discovery disputes.
  • Respond to and prepare motions, including dispositive motions, to advance cases through litigation.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 1-4 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on litigation, pre-litigation, and discovery.
    • Experience in taking and defending depositions and managing personal injury litigation matters.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of personal injury law, case management, and litigation strategies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively draft legal documents and represent clients.
    • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable settlements.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Must be in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
    • Workers' compensation experience is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Texas (or eligibility for admission).

Skills

  • Litigation and trial preparation experience, especially in personal injury law.
  • Strong proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Solid organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law, including medical records, accident investigation, and settlement negotiations.
