Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Employment Associate Attorney to join its Employment Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a wide variety of employment-related legal matters, including compliance with labor laws, drafting employment policies, and providing support for corporate law matters such as mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client matters effectively.

Location:

  • Pittsburgh, PA

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on employment law matters, including discrimination, wage and hour laws, wrongful termination, and workplace policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and other legal documents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII.
  • Assist with internal investigations related to workplace disputes and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct employment-related legal due diligence and assess related risks in corporate transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility for admission).
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in employment law, including compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
