Transactional Franchise Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a Transactional Franchise & Distribution Associate Attorney to join its practice in Reston, VA. This role is suited for an attorney with experience in U.S. franchising regulations, capable of drafting franchise agreements and managing regulatory filings. The position provides the opportunity to work on complex business transactions and counsel clients from various industries, both domestically and internationally.

Duties:

• Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and other regulatory filings.
• Provide legal counsel on complex business transactions related to franchise and distribution law.
• Advise domestic and international clients on franchise compliance and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys on both transactional and litigation matters in franchise law.
• Work with a broad client base, including emerging franchisors, large franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international companies franchising in the U.S.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transactional franchise law.
• Knowledge of U.S. franchise regulations and compliance requirements.
• Admission to practice law in Virginia, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar or eligibility for admission.
