Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in downtown Portland, OR, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This firm represents employers, insurers, and claims administrators in various employment law matters, including workers' compensation, Longshore, OSHA, wage and hour, discrimination, and related litigation. The position is remote-eligible and requires a candidate with experience in workers' compensation law and strong professional skills in communication, organization, and time management.

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to clients in workers' compensation, employment-related cases, and litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare written documents, and draft motions.
  • Assist in case strategy development and case management from initiation through resolution.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to address legal concerns and provide guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and manage deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on relevant legal developments and adjust strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be a member of the Oregon or Washington Bar.
  • Must have a strong academic and professional track record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Oregon or Washington Bar.
