A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will possess a high level of academic achievement and have solid law firm or clerking experience. This role demands exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial real estate litigation, distressed loans, and related financial instruments. Proven ability in taking and defending depositions and courtroom experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in financial services litigation, focusing on commercial real estate, distressed loans, and creditor and lender liability matters.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and manage discovery processes.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Appear in court, present evidence, and conduct trials effectively.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategy and development.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to devise and implement case strategies.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Georgia Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience or substantial clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and handling courtroom activities.
  • Strong academic credentials and a track record of excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
