Intellectual Property Patent Attorney

A law firm in Madison is seeking an Intellectual Property Patent Attorney with 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution. The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences, along with strong academic credentials. Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment needed to succeed and advance within the firm.

Duties:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in compliance with USPTO regulations.
• Conduct patentability searches and provide legal opinions on patent matters.
• Draft and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other required documents.
• Develop and implement patent prosecution strategies in collaboration with clients.
• Perform due diligence and analyze patents and patent portfolios.
• Collaborate with inventors and clients to understand technical details and draft accurate patent claims.
• Monitor and report on the status of pending patent applications and manage deadlines.
• Participate in client meetings and provide updates on patent prosecution progress.
• Stay current with legal and technical developments in intellectual property law and technology.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer sciences.
• Strong academic record with demonstrated legal and technical skills.
• Admittance to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.

Education:
