Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic team in Oakland, CA. Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload involving civil litigation matters, including product liability, premises liability, and medical malpractice.
• Draft and file motions, legal briefs, and other necessary legal documents.
• Attend depositions and represent clients in court hearings and trials as needed.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide guidance to junior staff.
• Provide legal counsel to clients and ensure excellent communication throughout the litigation process.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law to support case preparation.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Ensure all case documentation is well-organized and maintained per firm procedures.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with law and motion practice and depositions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Member of the California State Bar in good standing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the California State Bar (Required).

Skills:

• Strong legal writing skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research and using legal research tools.
• Ability to effectively represent clients in litigation proceedings.
