A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a skilled Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will defend employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims, leveraging their expertise in North Carolina workers’ compensation laws.

Duties:

  • Represent employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and precedents.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare clients for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients regarding workers’ compensation matters.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to manage case files efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.
  • Must have experience practicing in workers’ compensation defense or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of North Carolina workers’ compensation laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Proven litigation experience, including handling hearings and trials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
