Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is recruiting for a Finance and Restructuring Associate to join its Finance & Restructuring practice group. The role offers the opportunity to work with financial institutions, borrowers, and companies on complex commercial finance transactions. This position is available in multiple office locations across the United States and provides a hybrid work environment.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL.

Duties:

  • Draft and review loan agreements, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related documents.
  • Advise clients on covenant compliance and manage due diligence teams.
  • Lead and manage specialist teams during the transaction process.
  • Assist in loan originations and real estate financings.
  • Provide legal counsel to financial institutions and borrowers in commercial finance transactions.
  • Manage multiple assignments efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance or working with financial institutions and borrowers.
  • Experience in commercial finance transactions, including loan originations and real estate financings.
  • Strong drafting skills in loan, security, and intercreditor agreements.
  • Excellent writing skills and superior academic credentials.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex legal matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the relevant state bar.

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing commercial finance documents.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage due diligence teams and specialists.
