Job Overview:
A reputable law firm located in San Antonio, TX, is seeking an entry-level Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working under the guidance of senior attorneys. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in removal proceedings, preparing diverse immigration applications, and working collaboratively within a supportive team.

Duties:

• Explain immigration procedures and provide strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, including both detained and non-detained individuals.
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases efficiently, ensuring timely progress and client satisfaction.
• Conduct client intake and interviews at detention centers.
• Prepare immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases.
• Review and revise immigration packets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law developments.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations, assess case needs, and strategize the appropriate course of action.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, including court and USCIS testimony.
• Analyze legal options and prepare legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• A valid law license and admission to practice law.
• At least 1 year of experience in immigration law (preferred).
• Excellent case management skills and ability to work independently while managing a caseload.
• A team-oriented approach with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with clients.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, EOIR, detained cases, humanitarian applications, citizenship, and USCIS petitions.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar (Texas preferred).

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
