Job Overview
A leading law firm is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded Construction Practice Group in New York City. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 3 to 4 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or real estate law. The role involves working with developers on complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution related to some of the largest construction projects in the country, including sports stadiums, airports, hospitals, high-rises, and energy infrastructure.

Duties

  • Represent real estate developers and stakeholders in legal matters related to large-scale construction projects

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex construction and development contracts

  • Provide legal counsel during all phases of construction projects, including procurement and delivery

  • Advise clients on regulatory, contractual, and project risk management matters

  • Collaborate with litigation teams on dispute resolution when necessary

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on construction-related matters

  • Remain up to date on developments in construction and real estate law

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in construction infrastructure, project development, or real estate law

  • Prior experience with transactional work in construction or development projects (preferred)

  • Familiarity with complex construction contracts, including design-build and EPC agreements

  • Ability to manage multiple client matters in a fast-paced legal environment

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing (required)
