Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Owings Mills, MD, is seeking a talented and driven Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial litigation, collections, and bankruptcy matters. The position requires regular court appearances and direct client interaction, making it ideal for individuals who are passionate about litigation and client advocacy.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in both Maryland state and federal courts for commercial litigation, collections, and creditor’s rights matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Attend hearings, trials, and mediations, ensuring effective representation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide case analysis.
  • Negotiate settlements and other resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws governing collections and creditor’s rights.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Maryland (additional licensure in D.C. and/or Virginia is a plus).
  • At least three (3) years of experience in litigation, with a preference for candidates with commercial litigation experience.
  • Strong skills in litigation, negotiation, and case management.
  • Excellent legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with frequent court appearances and direct client interaction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Maryland; admission to D.C. and/or Virginia is beneficial.
