Job Overview:
A growing immigration law firm is seeking an experienced and bilingual Immigration Attorney to manage a substantial caseload. This position will focus on matters before the Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The ideal candidate will have experience representing children in Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa Petitions and appearing before various immigration agencies. The role requires strong writing, research, and client communication skills, as well as the ability to handle complex cases and prepare clients for hearings and interviews.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of immigration matters, focusing on cases before the Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Represent clients in hearings, interviews, and deferred inspections with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, and Customs and Border Protection.
  • Prepare clients for Individualized Merits Hearings and interviews for affirmative immigration benefits.
  • Handle Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa Petitions and cases related to children, with experience in probate and/or family court preferred.
  • Conduct legal research, draft petitions, motions, and legal briefs, and provide thorough case analysis.
  • Offer post-conviction relief for clients who are found ineligible for immigration benefits.
  • Provide excellent client service by meeting with clients to review applications for relief and guiding them through the immigration process.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
  • Strong experience with immigration law, specifically in areas before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Experience with Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa Petitions and cases involving children (highly desirable).
  • Proven ability to appear before immigration agencies for hearings, interviews, and inspections.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and maintain organization.
  • Excellent writing and legal research skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients, judges, and agency personnel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Bilingual communication (Spanish and English).
  • Expertise in immigration law and related legal processes.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience with family and probate law (preferable).
  • Case management and client communication.
  • Ability to work with a diverse client base.
