Job Title: Commercial Real Estate and Finance Associate Attorney
Job Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid remote opportunity)

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate and Finance Associate Attorney to support senior attorneys in a range of complex commercial real estate and finance transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented attorney with a focus on real estate, finance, and related legal matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, deeds, and other documents for commercial real estate and finance transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate loan documents for both lenders and borrowers.
  • Conduct due diligence, review and manage contingencies, title objections, survey and environmental reviews, and closing documents.
  • Coordinate title commitments, UCC, judgment, and lien searches, surveys, site plans, and leases.
  • Supervise pre- and post-closing matters, including preparing documents for recording and filing.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, banks, attorneys, and other stakeholders involved in the closing and filing processes.
  • Direct the preparation, management, and review of commercial leasing documents.
  • Review and negotiate lease terms, including common area maintenance clauses.
  • Prepare and pursue municipal approvals and variances for projects.
  • Manage agreements with developers and approve conditions required before draw disbursement and developer payment.
  • Draft initial documentation, obtain approvals, modify documents as needed, and coordinate document execution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate and finance.
  • Experience or interest in land use and zoning transactions is a plus.
  • Admission to the Connecticut bar is required.
  • Admission to the New York and Massachusetts bars (or ability to waive in) is preferred.
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the bar.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and client focus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Corporate experience is desirable.
  • Military experience is welcome.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar is required.
  • Admission to New York and Massachusetts Bars is preferred.

Skills:
