A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Lewiston, ME. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support for complex litigation matters. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the litigation practice, contributing to case strategy, legal research, document drafting, and court proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and case preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery requests, responses, and related documents.
  • Review and analyze documents, evidence, and deposition transcripts.
  • Participate in case strategy meetings and provide input on case management.
  • Assist with deposition preparation and conduct legal research on deposition topics.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client communication.
  • Attend court proceedings, hearings, and trials as required.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments, case law, and industry trends relevant to litigation practice areas.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Maine.
  • 2-5 years of experience in litigation practice.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferably have previous experience in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Preferably have prior experience working in a law firm environment.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Maine.
