The ideal candidate will bring over 7 years of litigation experience and possess a Juris Doctorate or higher degree. This role requires a licensed attorney in Mississippi with a proven track record in handling complex litigation matters. The successful candidate will work independently on high-profile cases and collaborate with the firm's legal team to achieve successful outcomes for clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and litigate complex civil and commercial cases from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients in court, including appearances at hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with other attorneys and legal professionals.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients and effectively communicate case developments and legal options.
  • Maintain meticulous case files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures.
  • Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions as appropriate.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and legal precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
  • Participate in firm meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and support the firm's overall objectives.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or higher degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, with a demonstrated history of handling complex cases.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and achieve favorable case outcomes.
