Associate Attorney Civil Litigation

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation to join a reputable practice in San Diego, CA. This position offers a dynamic opportunity for an individual with a background in insurance defense and/or insurance coverage, seeking to further develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative team environment. Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload, primarily focused on civil litigation matters, including insurance defense and coverage issues.
• Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Manage case strategy, including pre-trial preparation, depositions, and negotiations.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and settlement discussions.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to build case strategies and ensure client satisfaction.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions.
• Maintain and update client files, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for insurance defense or coverage experience.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
• Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to client service and case management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

• Civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or coverage.
• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation and client interaction skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
