Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its consumer collection litigation practice. This fully remote position will focus on representing creditor clients throughout Ohio. The role requires managing a caseload, conducting pleading reviews, and working as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. This opportunity provides flexibility and a great work environment with no billable hours requirements.

Location:

  • Columbus, Ohio

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of consumer collection litigation matters

  • Conduct comprehensive pleading reviews as part of a team

  • Represent creditor clients throughout Ohio

  • Work independently while collaborating with team members

  • Prioritize tasks, take initiative, and meet deadlines

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

  • Handle multiple assignments with a focus on timely completion

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio

  • 3+ years of experience practicing in Ohio (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Ohio Bar License required

Skills:

  • Experience in consumer collection litigation

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and pleading review skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple caseloads

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
