Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to assist senior attorneys in providing legal counsel to clients. The candidate will handle a variety of responsibilities including legal research, drafting pleadings, client communication, and representing clients in court proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist senior attorneys in providing legal counsel to clients on workers' compensation matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trials.
• Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Analyze legal issues and provide solutions to clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and case documentation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
• Meet billing goals and maintain detailed time records.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligibility to sit for the Bar exam.
• 1-3 years of experience in workers' compensation law or related field preferred.
• Judicial clerkship experience or strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
