Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Litigation Attorney to represent clients in various phases of litigation, specializing in matters involving general liability. The ideal candidate will handle court appearances, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and negotiate settlements, while maintaining close communication with clients throughout the litigation process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in cases involving general liability.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses and depositions, prepare summaries, and provide litigation updates.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
• Communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a background in General Liability, Professional Liability, Healthcare, or Labor and Employment.
• Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is essential.
• Must be Barred in PA.
• Experience drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions is required.
• Excellent writing and organizational skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Lexis software.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
