Job Overview

The Immigration Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload that involves representing individuals in immigration matters, advising on legal issues, and collaborating with a dedicated team. Duties

• Provide legal representation for detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings.
• Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including defense and family-based petitions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare submissions such as legal briefs and applications.
• Advise clients on immigration matters, explaining complex legal concepts and presenting solutions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, community organizations, and government agencies on immigration law updates.
• Visit detained clients and conduct intakes at detention centers.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
• Attend Immigration Court hearings and present cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Maintain communication with clients regarding case developments and strategy.
• Ensure timely submission of all required legal documents.

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Experience handling family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, and detained or EOIR matters.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while driving cases forward.
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the relevant State Bar.
