Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Immigration Associate Attorney to join their team. This role will involve representing clients in a variety of immigration matters such as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Family Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Waivers, Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Cancellation of Removal. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and possess at least two years of relevant experience in immigration law and litigation.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration-related matters, including SIJS, Family Petitions, Asylum, Adjustment of Status, and other related cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft petitions, motions, and legal documents.
  • Appear in immigration court and represent clients during hearings.
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases and ensure timely processing.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and guidance on case status.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm to ensure optimal case outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law and litigation.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • New York Bar license is required; a New Jersey Bar license is a plus.
  • Experience with Asylum, SIJS, and Cancellation of Removal cases is essential.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
  • Additional Bar certifications in New Jersey are a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Strong advocacy and litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
  • Excellent client communication skills, both verbal and written.
