Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client Intake & Initial Consultation:

    • Foster trust and build rapport with clients.
    • Gather all relevant facts concerning liability, damages, and insurance coverage.
    • Establish clear action items for both the client and legal team to ensure effective case management.
  • Investigation & Case Preparation:

    • Lead investigations to strengthen cases for trial.
    • Evaluate and secure necessary insurance coverage and critical evidence.
  • Negotiation & Settlement:

    • Aggressively negotiate with insurance adjusters to secure optimal settlements.
    • Assess the full settlement value of cases and prepare them for trial if settlement negotiations are not successful.
    • Maintain positive relationships with adjusters to ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Litigation & Trial Support:

    • Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and motions.
    • Strategize for trial, including preparation for mediation or arbitration when necessary.
  • General Duties:

    • Review and sign off on correspondence and legal documents prepared by the team.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure cases progress efficiently from start to finish.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and trial preparation experience.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload while maintaining attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client matters with compassion and empathy.
  • Proficiency in case management software and legal databases.
