Job Overview:
A premier law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Austin, TX. This position offers a tremendous opportunity for professional growth, as the successful candidate will manage their own caseload and work closely with a team of skilled attorneys and legal assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience looking to advance their career within an established firm.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases
  • Conduct intakes and meet with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and determine appropriate legal strategies
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle high caseloads while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
