Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Purchase, NY, is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorneys to join its litigation team. This is a hybrid work opportunity suited for those who thrive in a fast-paced legal environment and are eager to advance their careers in civil litigation and insurance defense.

Duties:

  • Handle individual caseloads with oversight from senior partners
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and write memorandums
  • Attend court hearings and conferences
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Participate in property inspections
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses for case consultations
  • Engage in mediation processes
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York or certified for admission
  • Admission to practice in Connecticut is advantageous
  • Prior experience in litigation and civil defense is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active New York State Bar License (required)

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective case management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
