Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in patent prosecution, including patent search and analysis, drafting and filing applications, and portfolio management. Experience with mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices is preferred. Litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Location:

Plymouth Meeting, PA

Duties:

  • Manage and prosecute patent applications across various industries
  • Conduct patent searches and provide detailed analysis
  • Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO
  • Provide strategic portfolio management and intellectual property counseling
  • Collaborate with clients to assess and protect their intellectual property
  • Optional involvement in IP litigation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IP patent prosecution
  • In-depth knowledge of patent law and prosecution procedures
  • Experience with mechanical, biomedical, or medical devices (preferred)
  • Litigation experience (preferred but not required)
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical science, or a related technical field (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar
  • USPTO registration (required)
