Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Redwood City, CA, is seeking a Litigation Services Attorney to join its Managing Attorney’s Office. This role demands high-level legal analysis of complex procedural and strategic issues in both state and federal courts. The attorney will review filings for form and procedural content, prepare detailed procedural roadmaps for upcoming court filings, and provide expert advice on court rules and civil procedures. Utilizing advanced legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, the attorney will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and strategic advantage across multiple jurisdictions.

Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive judicial research to create profiles and analytics on judges, including reviewing transcripts.
• Manage and oversee calendaring functions, ensuring accurate tracking of litigation deadlines for all contested matters.
• Perform court services functions, including the retrieval and filing of court documents in both paper and electronic formats, and processing daily litigation mail.
• Prepare detailed procedural roadmaps to assist attorneys with complex court filings, highlighting strategic opportunities and best practices based on judicial preferences.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 3 years of experience as a litigation attorney or in a litigation services environment.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable court rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions, with the ability to apply them efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex court rules and calendaring issues clearly and confidently.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret and convey complex legal principles effectively.

Education:

• J.D. degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Current Bar admission in the relevant state.
