A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its Investment Funds Group in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in real estate law, particularly with acquisitions, dispositions, and financings. This position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team, handling high-profile real estate transactions while providing critical legal counsel in the investment funds sector. Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, are essential.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings for investment funds.
  • Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and financing arrangements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support real estate transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure successful and compliant transactions.
  • Assist in securities offerings and other regulatory aspects related to real estate investments (preferred but not required).
  • Work independently while maintaining effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure that all legal aspects of transactions are handled efficiently and following relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of substantive experience in real estate law, particularly related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Familiarity with securities offerings is beneficial, but not required.
  • Excellent business judgment and organizational skills.
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the TX Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in real estate law, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Strong legal writing and research abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a well-organized approach to managing caseloads.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team while also managing independent responsibilities.
