Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Associate Attorney. This opportunity offers a supportive and dynamic work environment for both new and experienced attorneys. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in North and South Carolina and have the ability to manage various aspects of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, and courtroom proceedings. Duties:

  • Handle all phases of litigation, from case evaluation to resolution.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, ensuring a strong courtroom presence.
  • Manage a large caseload, ensuring timely updates and deadlines are met.
  • Independently create litigation plans, conduct discovery, and maintain excellent client communication.
  • Travel to select courts in North and South Carolina as needed.
  • Work with collections software (JST CollectMax) to manage account updates.
  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in both North and South Carolina.
  • Ability to travel to courts within North and South Carolina.
  • Prior trial experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Creditors’ rights or Motor Vehicle torts preferred.
  • Experience in creditors’ rights or motor vehicle torts is a plus.
  • Experience in post-judgment collections is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must hold valid Bar licenses for both North and South Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and meet deadlines independently.
  • Comfortable working within a litigation docket, particularly in South Carolina.
  • Proficient in collections software (JST CollectMax).
